This year's camp themes center around two popular Aesop Fables: 


The Lion & the Mouse and The Tortoise & the Hare.

Original, creative projects will follow the theme and include a variety of media experiences such as:


DRAWING  •  PAINTING  •  MIXED MEDIA    SCULPTING    PRINTMAKING

Campers will answer questions & plan strategies to solve multiple art challenges during the week.

AT CAMP...

Your serious young artist
will learn about: 

• composition,

• color theory,

• craftmanship, &

• various techniques.


Your patient young artist
will focus on:

• concepts,

• planning sketches, &

• quality work.


Your creative young artist
will explore:

• sculpting,

• drawing,

• painting,

• printmaking, &

• mixed media.


June 25-29 
The Lion & the Mouse 

During this camp, students will write, design & illustrate their own version of the fable, The Lion & the Mouse. They will
focus on using color, composition & perspective as they
solve multiple art challenges during the week. Campers will also experience other original, creative projects that follow
the theme and include a variety of media experiences.

August 6-10
The Tortoise & the Hare

Just like the tortoise worked slow & steady to win the race, campers will learn how to work slow & steady to produce their best art during this week's camp. Students will design and illustrate their own original board game based on the fable along with many other unique and creative projects that support the week's theme.

Holding art camps and lessons in our home studio, in several Richland 2 Schools, and various other private venues since 2011, Asheland Studios encourages art exposure and growth for both children and adults.

Camps start with a creative theme to guide our planning. We add thorough instruction and exciting projects to help your child learn the basics of art while having lots of fun. 

Hands-on experiences include drawing, painting, sculpting, printing, mixed media, and lots more in between.

Your young artist will enjoy creating one-of-a-kind artwork in our safe and creative environment. Experimentation is encouraged and guided. Our goal is to encourage your students while he/she makes new discoveries in art.

Registration$265/student/week
• $25 discount for two students for one week or
   for one student for both weeks.
• $100 discount for two students for both weeks.

Fees include registration; all supplies for painting, printmaking, sculpting and drawing; and snacks.

NEW THIS YEAR:  
A $35 non-refundable deposit (per student) is available to hold your child's spot if unable to pay the balance in full. Details are included in STEP 2 of the registration process.

Important: LUNCH/SNACKS

Due to food allergies and sensitivities, please pack a bag lunch and drink each day. We try to serve snacks that are allergy free, but please include appropriate snacks if your child has food allergies.

DEPOSIT

$ 35.00 USD

Full payment is required for your child's camp at the time of registration. However, this non-refundable deposit is available to hold your child's spot if you are unable to pay for your registered week(s) at this time.You will be invoiced for the balance and it must be paid before June 1st regardless of which week(s) you registered for. A waiting list will be created for interested students once the camp is full. Failure to pay the balance before June 1st may result in your spot going to another child on the waiting list. All camp confirmations will be made according to the date full payment is made. Waiting list calls will begin on June 1st.
